Curato Peregrinatio Compostellana

Curates Pilgrimage of Compostela - 3rd May 2021

Beginning in May 2021, Fr Ross will be taking on the challenge to walk a 480.9 mile route of the Camino de Santiago (the Way of Saint James) virtually, with tracking of his daily walking, to raise funds for the parish to establish new outreach projects for young people. With only a Fitbit and new walking boots, Fr Ross aims to complete the course in 140 days (hopefully less).

The challenge is managed by Conqueror Events which tracks daily steps and allows pilgrims to watch their progress along the camino.

Donating to support Fr Ross in completing this challenge is really easy and can be made via our JustGiving page - where you'll also find updates on his progress.

Fr Ross writes:

"Enabling young people to explore their faith and to support and resource their journey is something which I am very passionate about. As someone who came to faith as a young adult, I know how it feels to begin that journey and to be seeking a supportive community who will help you to grow in discipleship and ask all of the questions which being a Christian raises.

I hope that this challenge will give our parish the opportunity to more confidently engage with young people and enable us to fund outreach projects to build that community which sustains faith."
